The conduct of drone patrol spearheaded by PBGEN NICOLAS D TORRE III, District Director, QCPD, evolved the traditional type of patrolling by the creation of a drone squadron, which has the following advantages in police operations:
Surveillance: Drones can be used to provide aerial surveillance in areas that would be difficult or dangerous for officers to access on foot or in vehicles. This can include remote or rugged terrain as well as high-crime areas.
Search and rescue: Drones can be used to search for missing persons, particularly in large or dense wilderness areas.
Crowd control: Drones can be used to monitor large crowds and detect potential threats, allowing officers to respond more quickly and effectively.
Traffic control: Drones can be used to monitor traffic and assist with directing vehicles during accidents or other incidents.
Evidence collection: Drones can be used to capture aerial photographs and videos of crime scenes, which can be used as evidence in court.
Safety: Drones can be used to inspect buildings, bridges, and other structures for safety hazards without putting officers at risk.
Innovation truly has its place in law enforcement, crime prevention, and crime control, making the police service effective and helpful to the citizenry.
ICCC
The Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is a central command center that coordinates and manages the police operations and activities of the district. The ICCC serves as the main hub for the monitoring, management, and control of various police functions such as patrols, investigations, and emergency response.
The ICCC is typically equipped with advanced technologies such as surveillance cameras, GPS, and computer systems that enable real-time monitoring of police activities and enable the rapid exchange of information among different police units. It is also connected with other command centers and agencies such as local government units, barangay officials, and emergency responders to ensure a coordinated and efficient response to various incidents.
The main purpose of the ICCC is to enhance the operational efficiency of the police force by providing real-time situational awareness and enabling quick and effective decision-making. The ICCC also provides the capability for the police force to respond quickly to incidents, improving their ability to protect the community and maintain peace and order in the Quezon City area.
The Police Cadets of Philippine National Police Academy is privileged to witness how the Quezon City Police District headed by PBGEN NICOLAS TORRE III, addresses crime response along with innovation and technology.
